Lottery tickets
were sold to finance the war and this system had been
used before the war
to raise general revenue. Also lotteries were held by
military
organizations to raise money for operation and administrative
needs. These
lotteries began at least in the 1930s. On the other hand,
the military
vignettes(All lottery bills with nice
military pictures)
make them very
popular and interesting items for collectors.
